HORSEBACK RIDING
On all trips, long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Dress in layers
because it's cold in the morning and warms up as the day goes on.
Bring hat, sunscreen and sunglasses.

MENDES RANCH - NORTH SIDE OF MAUI

Horseback riding on north side of Maui adds a great experience to 
go with your other vacation outings. Take in the spectacular scenery Maui's north coastline.  The narrated tour then continues down the mountain where you will see Hawaiian taro patches and plantation homes. 

The trail continues down along Waihe'e Valley through the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean where they will be happy to take a picture of you on horseback with the beautiful Maui seascape in the background. Your narrator/guides are part of the ranch and the sturdy horses make this a great way to spend one of your vacation days on Maui.

Morning and afternoon rides include refreshments and beverages. 
You can purchase the optional BBQ lunch if you desire. Lunch consists of Ranch ribs, BBQ chicken, beans, 2 salads, rolls and drinks. 

The cost for lunch is $20 per person.

Mendes Ranch is located at the 7 mile marker on Hwy 340 out of Wailuku.

LAHAINA STABLES - WEST SIDE OF MAUI

Early Ride: Witness spectacular views of the West Maui Mountains, Molokai, Lanai, and Lahaina. Dismount at the authentic Hawaiian Hale (house) located on a ridge by a scenic pond. Here you will enjoy a snack and beverage. This two hour excursion begins at 9 AM (check in at 8:45 AM) and also at 12:30 PM (check in at 12:15 PM)..

Lunch Ride: Same as above but includes lunch (sandwich, chips and dessert).
Ride lasts for 2.5 hours and begins at 11 AM  (check in at 10:30 AM).

MAKENA STABLES - SOUTH SIDE OF MAUI

This company has been serving customers for 21 years. They provide lessons on happy horses. Their main concern is your comfort and the health of their horses.

Morning Ride: This 2.5 hour horseback ride is suitable for most levels of riding skills. Panoramic views of the slopes of Haleakala, lava fields, La Perouse Bay and several other islands. Beautiful views. Climb up to Kalua O Lapa, the newest vent formed by the dormant volcano. A challenging but
fun ride for all. Ride begins at 8 AM.
 
Sunset Ride: This spectacular 2.5 to 3 hour sunset ride encompasses the winding trails of Ulupalakua Ranch overlooking La Perouse Bay. There is nothing more inspiring than experiencing Maui's beautiful terrain and views of a beautiful Maui sunset over the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Private Ride: For those who wish to enjoy either of the above described  rides as a private group, call for prices. 

Tours cancelled 48 hours prior to date of operation are refundable less 10% service charge. Tours cancelled less than 48 hours are non-refundable. All bookings made more than two weeks in advance are subject to 72 hour cancellation policy

PONY EXPRESS STABLES - HALEAKALA (UPCOUNTRY)

7.5 mile Haleakala crater venture: The longest trail ride on Maui. All the way to the crater floor (2500 ft.) and more! Lots of attractions on this trip: Bottomless Pit, Pele's Paint Pot and if you're lucky, you might see Hawaii's state bird, the Nene Goose. So awesome you'll feel like you are walking on the moon! Picnic lunch features croissant sandwiches. 
Expertly guided and narrated. Great for photographers!
Duration: 4 hours. Ride is offered Monday through Saturday.
Check in at the ranch office then continue on to the visitor's center at the Park. Park entrance fee is $10.
